Construction Site Deliveries Policy

EFFECTIVE 1ST SEPTEMBER 19 THERE WILL BE A £5.95 SURCHARGE FOR ALL ORDERS REQUIRING DELIVERY TO A CONSTRUCTION SITE.

Statistics and experience show that deliveries sent to construction site deliveries are more likely to experience issues or delays. This small surcharge contributes to the cost to HMT for tracking requests, proof of deliveries and any issues experienced delivering the order using the information provided.

HMT partner with premium national carriers DHL and DPD, however a small percentage of deliveries can fail due to the reasons below or other reasons outside our control.

Deliveries to construction sites are becoming increasingly difficult due to stricter site security and access limitations. To ensure the best chance of success we are reliant on being provided with detailed delivery information including site contact and mobile number/s, main contractor/site name and a full and accurate site address including any gate numbers or route information.

No carrier will guarantee to phone the nominated delivery contact, this is at the drivers discretion.

If a delivery is particularly important, we recommend you pay for an upgrade to a premium Pre 12 or Pre 10:30 service. This can help ensure the carrier prioritizes delivery and we can deal with any potential issues earlier in the day

In the event of a delivery failure we will work with the carrier to re-deliver at the earliest possible opportunity.
