STEPPED TIP DRILLS AT 2X THE SPEED WITH NO PILOT DRILLING NEEDED

VersaDrive® TurboTip Impact drill bits are stepped tip bits that drill at twice the speed of standard bits without the need for pilot drilling while cutting a perfectly round hole.

Turbocharge your drilling performance by using this revolutionary tool with an impact wrench or impact driver. Double hardened and titanium coated for faster drilling & reduced wear.

VersaDrive® TurboTip drill bits have a patented non-slip, Hex shank suitable for use in any standard 1/2" drill chuck for cordless or pistol drills or used with a VersaDrive® Rapid Lock adapter for use in a wide range of powertools such as Magnetic Drills.

Product Benefits

  • No pilot drilling needed due to patented stepped-tip drill point
  • Faster drilling with 1/3 less feed pressure required, reducing fatigue for the operator
  • Industrial grade Titanium Nitride coating reduces heat buildup and burn-out
  • Use on Impact to prevent dangerous kickback caused by handheld rotary tools
  • Heavy-duty hex shank design for secure non-slip operation
  • Quality results on stainless steels and Inox - rotary application recommended
  • VersaDrive patented shank and modular adapters provide unbeatable jobsite flexibility
  • Impact-rated due to dual hardening process - allows up to 15X faster speed than traditional methods

Quick Guide

  • For fastest performance use on impact wrenches & impact drivers
  • For optimum life and accuracy use with pistol drills and magnet drills
  • Suitable for use on Stainless Steel and harder materials if used at low RPM in rotary tools
  • Use appropriate lubrication and correct RPM to achieve long tool life

VersaDrive TurboTip FAQ Section
+
Q: Can I use my impact wrench or Impact Driver with TurboTip Drill Bits
TurboTip Drill Bits are specially hardened with a patented point design to cope with impact and provide up to double the drilling speed compared to an ordinary hand held rotary drill or cordless drill. They will also perform exceptionally well when used with a rotary drill

Q: Which lubricant do you recommend for TurboTip
Speedlube is generally the best all purpose lubricant, for fast, convenient and accurate aerosol application ensuring coverage inside the hole as well as on the tool. However our BioCut paste is very popular and efficient lubricant for dipping the tool directly into the tin. It’s also great for minimising run off or mess, on painted surfaces or other sensitive applications where run off is to be avoided. Aeropaste can be used if working in applications such as Overhead where a fluid lubricant will run off. Finally BioCut Blue cutting fluid works particularly well with harder materials or difficult applications and is ideal forfor direct application onto the tool and into the hole when working on flat surfaces

Q: What life expectancy can i expect with TurboTip drill bits
As a rule of thumb you can expect in the region of 200 holes per bit when using TurboTip. Most of our customers say this is great value for money considering the speed of impact drilling, combined with the accuracy and finished hole quality a TurboTip drill bit gives. Under test conditions in floor mounted drilling machines, users have reported life expectancy of greater than 1000 holes per drill

Q: Can I use TurboTip Drill bits for stainless and other hard materials.
TurboTip Drill Bits are suitable for drilling stainless steel when used at lower RPM speeds in rotary drills. They can be used for drilling Stainless Steel with an Impact wrench, however reduced life expectancy would be expected. TurboTip drill bits are not intended for use on Hardox and other wear plate materials. For optimum tool life We recommend using lower RPM speeds, higher pressure and increased lubrication.

Q: At what stage will at Turbotip Drill bit go blunt
the most common cause for a drill bit to have blunted sooner than you would have expected it to, the typical cause is using too high an RPM for the particular application causing the tool to wear and blunt prematurely. When used at recommended RPM and torque limits and all best practice is followed, you should expect excellent tool life.

Q: Can TurboTip Drill Bits be resharpened
They can be resharpened by dedicated resharpening companies using tool grinding machines. We do not offer this service directly but we can recommed resharpening companies

1. Best Practice Advice - How to get the best out of your 209015 TurboTip
+
  1. Follow guidelines to set correct RPM speed. Incorrect RPM can lead to poor life or tool breakage
  2. Apply firm, steady feed pressure throughout the cut
  3. Avoid lateral movement or tilting which can cause damage to the tool
  4. Ensure regular application of quality cooling lubricant, especially when drilling thick or hardened materials.
  5. Hardened or heat-affected materials may require higher torque, reduced RPM and feed rates and extra coolant
2. Torque / RPM guide - Best Torque & RPM values for different sizes of hole and applications.
+

Use the table below to identify the recommended Nm of Torque for your hole size.

Use Nm of Torque for drilling with Impact tooling.

N.B. Impact Torque recommendations are the minimum required and for most applications additional torque is a benefit. For Impact applications where Torque values available do not offer an exact match to the table below select the closest available torque setting ABOVE the recommendation.

3. Powertool recommendations on Mild Steel
+

VersaDrive tooling can be used with a wide range of adapters that allow the products to be used across a variety of drive tools depending on the application required.

Below you will find the recommended adapters for the VersaDrive 209015 TurboTip.

4. How to decide which Impact Wrench or Impact Driver to use?
+
  1. Identify the torque range (for the cutting tool) required using the data sheet in question 2.
  2. Identify the torque range on your impact wrench or impact driver
  3. Look up model number to see torque range
  4. Check if there are speed/torque settings on the tool - Example
  5. Select the closest torque setting on the impact wrench/impact driver ABOVE the torque recommendation
(this is for the following 2 reasons)
    - Higher torque will only be used on demand
    - Too low torque will lead to the tool jamming or even snapping as the flutes stop cutting and the torque transfers to the tool
