Quarrying and Mining
The Quarrying & Mining sector requires a large amount of Steelwork and Metal fabrication in the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery working with aggregate and other mined materials. This requires a significant amount of field and workshop based drilling to drill, tap, countersink and ream holes, often in challenging circumstances.
Due to the highly abrasive nature of many aggregates and raw materials, extremely hard wear plate such as HARDOX®, ABRO® and STRENX® are widely used for surfacing and facing the moving and wearing parts on structures, conveyers, hoppers in addition to mobile plant and machinery.
In response to the unique challenge of working with these materials, HMT have developed a generation of ULTRA cutting tools specifically designed to tackle the fabrication and maintenance needs of the quarrying and mining sector.
