Plant & Equipment Maintenance
Quarrying and mining operations involve extensive metalworking to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy plant and machinery working with aggregate and mined materials. Drilling, tapping, countersinking, and reaming holes is common in both workshop and field-based environments, often carried out on large, partially inaccessible equipment where downtime must be kept to a minimum.
The abrasive nature of these materials means wear plates such as HARDOX®, ABRO®, and STRENX® are widely used on conveyors, hoppers, and mobile plant. Working with these hardened steels requires controlled, reliable holemaking methods. Portable, modular drilling systems, combined with cutting tools developed specifically for high-wear materials, allow maintenance and metalworking tasks to be completed efficiently and safely in demanding quarry and mining conditions.
